Course Summary

In our Theatre Comedy School students study comedy greats and learn to write and perform in their own comedy sketches.

Forming their own comedy troupes, this wonderfully whacky course will help participants to find their comedy style and to create comedic characters and scenes for the stage.

From how to generate ideas through to finding the truth that ignites their comedy, young people will end up in a race against the clock to get their ideas written, rehearsed and performed at the end of the week.

What we cover

• Acting + creativity games: Have a blast as your free yourself up as actors, comedians and writers through our fun filled comedy team building games.

• Working in professional theatre: we cover all of the key areas of working in theatre including voice, movement, acting and more!

• Study the comedy greats; Chaplin, The Three Stooges, Mr Bean and many more!

• Develop your comedic style: Discover your comedy style.

• How to build a character: acting and comedy techniques from the world’s top acting and comedy institutes to help you find the funny onstage.

• Voice and movement masterclass: Free up your voice and body in these comedic sessions.

• Script writing and idea generation: Come up with ideas and write jokes and funny scenes.

• Comedy script analysis: Break down some brilliant comedy scripts to help with your own ideas.

• The foundations of improvising: Learn to play, make mistakes and make things up!

• Directing and devising tips.

• DBS checked theatre coach with professional industry experience/ and or training.

• Specially crafted comedy journey of games, lessons, challenges and exercises across the week.
