Course Summary

In this workshop students will learn the basics of film making in an action packed one day introductory course. Students will learn a little bit of film history, before getting down to the practicalities of movie making in this creative adventure.

The course begins with students learning the fundamentals of visual storytelling, camera work and onset roles as they practically apply the lessons through a series of fun exercises. Breakout sessions allow students to practise their skills in groups and receive tuition to improve their film making abilities. Exploring shot types, composition and camera movement, students will learn how to tell different types of story on camera and will gain confidence on screen.

The workshop culminates in a movie challenge as students shoot a short movie in teams, before watching the films back at the end of the day.
