Learn how to create characters for theatre in intermediate theatre acting course.

Course Summary

The Drama Sequel gives students the opportunity to develop more advanced theatre acting skills in an in depth character building session.

Facilitated in a playful style with an emphasis on professionalism, students will explore a series of challenges that stretch them as actors, ready for performance at the end of the day.

The session moves from group games & exercises, through to individual and team practise in voice, movement and acting, culminating in students sharing a scene or story in front of the group. 

What we cover

  • Warm up games: Have a blast as your free up your body, voice and mind in our hugely fun actor warm up games.

  • Drama exercises: learn professional acting techniques and confidence on stage in an array of challenges that help you to build a character professionally.

  • Character movement: learn how the worlds greats approach movement.

  • Voice development: clarity, projection, pitch, tone, breath support and more!

  • How to be comfortable in making mistakes and become more creative.

  • How to build a character onstage: Explore acting techniques from the worlds top practitioners including Stanislavski’s 7 questions, hot seating, playing actions and more!

  • Ensemble work: how to work professionally as a team.

  • Improvisation: Learn intermediate improv skills in a series of entertaining acting challenges.

  • Intermediate theatre principles and performance skills.

  • Practise reading and interpretation skills through exploring short scenes.

  • Create, direct and act in a short scene, mini story or scripted scene.

  • Directing, team working, leadership and storytelling tips.

  • Acting coach with professional acting experience and/ or training.

  • See confidence breakthrough's in a half day or full day session that fits nicely into your wider programme.

  • Suitable for those with some drama/theatre experience or those who have already completed the theatre intro course.

  • Can request your own theatre themes and topics to be included.

  • Available and adapted accordingly to suit all of the following age ranges: 9-12, 13-15, 16-18, 18+. (Can request wider age ranges)

  • All teaching materials and learning resources.
