Course Summary

Our Drama Intro! workshop provides students with the opportunity to learn the introductory skills of theatre acting in an action packed and entertaining session.

Facilitated in a very fun and playful style, students will take part in a specially crafted series of games and exercises that cover the building blocks of acting, as they develop confidence and learn how to find confidence on stage.

Following team building exercises that help with ensemble work and professionalism, the session moves on to individual and group practise in elements of voice, movement and acting, culminating in each student participating in a scene presentation in front of peers. 

What we cover

• An extravaganza of drama games: learn the building blocks of acting and confidence on stage in an array of fun games that cover voice, movement, character, status and much more!

• Team games: how to work as an ensemble.

• Drama skills: exploring short scenes and an array of exercises and games.

• Voice clarity and projection: move your mouth in a series of vocal challenges.

• Theatre principles and performance skills.

• Character movement: an introduction to body work.

• Improvisation: Learn the key principles in a series of entertaining acting challenges.

• Act in a short scene or mini story.

• Delivered by professional dbs checked performers with industry experience and/or training.

• See confidence breakthrough's in a half day or full day session that fits nicely into your wider programme.

• Available and adapted accordingly to suit all of the following age ranges: 5-7, 8-11, 12-15, 16-18, 18+. (Can request wider age ranges)

• All teaching materials and digital and printed learning resources and a few props.

• Inspiring Drama medal upon completion.

• Can Include behind the scenes video* of students enjoying the day, perfect for showcasing your school, business or organisation. (*additional fee).

HOW WILL IT HELP ME?

This fun filled Drama Extravaganza will give a students great insight and experience of how to find their feet on stage whilst developing confidence in communication, team working, creativity and storytelling. Theatre is also an excellent medium to practise language skills and learn about empathy and human psychology.
